(March 10, 1943 - February 19, 2011) Dorothy Phyllis Purkey, age 67, of Rockford, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Grace Memorial Church in Alcoa. Preceded in death by her husband, Ben Harmon Purkey; son, Randy Lee Purkey; brother, Leslie T. Anderson; sister, Dorris Sharp; and parents, Luther and Ruth Anderson. Survivors include daughters and son in law, Donna and Jed Delaune of VA, Nancy Martin (and special friend, Pete Hall) of Maryville; grandsons, Mark Garner Jr., Jeremy Davis, Justin Purkey, Josh Martin, Jacob Purkey, Brandon Martin, and Jonathan Delaune; great grandchildren, Gauge Garner, Lacy Martin and Derrin Garner; sister, Margaret Anderson, Elizabeth Murphy, Norma Purkey, and Linda Cupp; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Ron Sunderland officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Chapel Cemetery for the graveside service and interment.
