PERRY H. MASON, JR., age 72, of Knoxville, TN passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Retired from Independent Life after 33 years. He was pastor of Hansard's Chapel United Methodist Church and Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church of Union County. Survived by wife of 51 years, Viola McKay Mason; sons, Perry (Pam) Mason III of Southlake, TX and Terry (Karen) Mason of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Hannah and Brad Mason of Southlake, TX; brothers, Curtis (Deloris) Mason of Dandridge, Jack Mason of Lucedale, MS; sister, Edna Caton of Johnson City; sisters-in-law, Betty Rutherford, Charlotte McKay of Dandridge and Sue (Jim) McFalls of Newport; several nieces and nephews and cousins, and best friend, Joe Trout. The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff of St. Mary's Hospital Pulmonary Unit and all his physicians for all their wonderful care and support during this time. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the Dandridge First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Gooden, Rev. Sam Johnson and Rev. Steve Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Dandridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
