Benefit for Bobby Joe Wiley set for Saturday
NEWPORT--There will be a benefit for Bobby Joe Wiley at Stokely's Chapel Baptist Church, 509 Industrial Road, on Saturday, Aug. 23.
Wiley suffers from a liver disease and a bleeding disorder, according to friends. A friend explained blood vessels in his esophagus rupture and cause severe bleeding.
Because of his health, he has been unable to work since last December.
Currently, Wiley lives with his mother, Florence Cameron Wiley.
The benefit will be held in the church fellowship hall.
Starting at 4 p.m., food will be available. There will be a choice of hot dog plates with all the trimmings or beans with coleslaw and trimmings for $5 per person.
There will be cakewalks and gospel singing by the Camerons and Glory Bound.
An auction will begin at 7 p.m. Items are still needed for the auction.
To make a donation, or for more information, call Fannie Cameron at (423) 721-5155.
