LAWSON, SARAH - age 94 of Knoxville, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2010. She was a very active member of Fountain City Presbyterian Church. Miss Lawson was a retired educator in the Knox County School System after 35 years of service in Special Education based out of East Tennessee Children's Hospital. Sarah was a member of the Southern Highland Craftsman Guild since 1939 in Asheville, North Carolina with creations of silver jewelry, stitchery and metal works. Sarah crafted an angel that was placed on the Angel Tree in the White House during the first Christmas of the Clinton administration. She was an active member of Little People of America and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. Preceded in death by her parents, Stewart and Dora Lawson; brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Jean Lawson; sister, Reba Lawson. She is survived by her nieces; Nancy Clifton, Clara Rose and Virginia Evans; nephew, Stewart Lawson; many great-nieces and great-nephews; many great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with The Reverend Max Reddick officiating. Interment will follow in Middle Creek Cemetery in Sevierville. Pallbearers will be Stewart Lawson, Donnie Lockett, Gene Rose, Jimmy Evans, Tony McGimsey and Richard Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be David Evans, Tim Walker and Joe Weigel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. Online condolences may be extended at www.rosemortuary.com.
