MERRELL, MILFORD H. - age 88, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, February 26th, 2008. He was a member of Halls Christian Church. He was a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer having served with distinction in WWII and the Korean War. He was a 32nd degree Freemason. He will be sorely missed by the many lives that he touched. Preceded in death by: two stepsons, John William (Bill) Hill, and Thomas Steven (Tom) Hill. He is survived by: beloved wife of 46 years, Ruby L. Merrell; sisters, Gertrude and Faye; brother, Charles; stepdaughter, Patricia Hill Yeatman; 9 grandchildren, Renee Hill, Sonja Hill, Donnie Hill, John William Hill II, Gary Hill, Ronald Taylor, Robert Taylor, John Taylor and wife, Tonya, Melissa Hanson and husband, Ken Hanson; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. He also left behind many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. in the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, with Minister Mark Brackney officiating.
