Gann, Carl Henry – age 62 of Strawberry Plains went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2008, at his home. Member and Deacon at Pratts Chapel Baptist Church. Forman in the Physical Plant at the University of Tennessee for 39 years. Preceded in death by parents, Ruth and Nathan Gann; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Maude Sellers. Survived by wife of 40 years, Wilma Gann; daughter, Carla Parker and husband Mike; grandchildren, Katie, Zachary, Julian, and Hector; brother, Dennis Gann; sister, Helen Hodges; special in-laws who loved him like a brother, Paul and Brenda Sellers, Faye and W.C. Browning, Nettie Perry, Donnie and Sandra Sellers, Bill Sellers, Ronnie Sellers, Mary and Carson Brogdon; special cousins, Harold and Polly Teague, Arletta and Jay Beason, and Elsie and Rose Marie Herrell; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Sunday, August 31, 2008, in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Perry, Rev. Tim Wallace, and Rev. Jim Dockins officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:00 AM Monday at Bridges Funeral Home and proceed to Strawberry Plains Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment. Pallbearers: Danny Jones, Jeff Anderson, Chris Norman, Joey Ramsey, Doug Luttrell, and Wayne McCall. Honorary pallbearers: Deacons of Pratts Chapel Baptist Church, Ken Snow, WC Browning, Voyd Keck, Donnie Sellers, Don Cross, George Bull, Jim Reagan, and Tys Underwood. Special thanks to the co-workers at UT and all who called, came by, brought food, and prayed. Also, special thanks to Dr. Stephen Miller and staff, Dr. Paul Branca and staff, Dr. Daniel Cox and staff, and the UT Hospice nurses, Diane, Angela, and Murtie. Memorials may be made to Pratts Chapel Baptist Church, 7011 Hammer Road, Knoxville, TN 37924. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 523-4999.
