He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, East Tennessee Senior Golf Association, charter member and past president of Oak Ridge Elks Club, a member of Beaver Brook Country Club, and was president and owner of A. Tiller Real Estate and was retired from Union Carbide. Preceded in death by first wife, Agnes Louise Tiller; and grandson, Mark Stephens. Survived by wife, Betty H. Tiller of Halls; daughter, Sandra Edwards of Kingston; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Judy Tiller of Marble Falls, Texas and David and Lori Tiller of Halls; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Clawson of Madison, Ohio; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Suzanne J. and Douglas Cowan of Atlanta; stepdaughter, Clara J. Johnson of Halls. Friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Monday at McCarty-Woodhaven Memorial Garden, Claxton, Dr. Charles Earl, Dr. Scott Thomas and Dr. Thomas Drinnen officiating. Active pallbearers: Mike Tiller, Matthew Tiller, Robert Edwards, Douglas Cowan, Danny Gaylor, A.C. Cooper, and Harold Hopper. Honorary pallbearers will be members of East Tennessee Senior Golf Association and David Sharp, Bill George, Roy Seymour, Bob Bridges, Bill Rose, Burl Hutchinson, Henry DeGolyer, Roy Graves, Richard Petree, and James C. Seay. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church Building Fund or American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Gentry-Griffey Chapel.
