TILLER, BETTY HUDDLESTON JOHNSON - age 73 of Halls, passed away Wednesday evening at Fort Sanders Medical Center. Preceded in death by first husband of 29 years, Hollis Johnson; and her second husband of 15 years, Arnold Tiller. Member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Fontinalis, past president of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Member of Tennessee Education Association, Union County Historical Society, retired teacher of Union County School System, enjoyed bridge and other card clubs. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Doug Cowan, Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Clara Jo Johnson of Powell; stepsons and daughters-in-law, David and Lori Tiller of Knoxville, Ray and Judy Tiller of Marble Falls, Texas; step-daughter, Sandy Edwards of Kingston; 6 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Dossie Myers of Newport; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. Funeral service at 8:00 p.m. Friday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel, Dr. Thomas Earl and Dr. Tom Drinnen officiating. Friends will meet 1: 45 p.m. Saturday at Carr Cemetery in Maynardville for graveside services at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers: Freddie Myers, Bill Myers, Matt Tiller, Danny Gaylor, Bill Rose, Danny Cox, Ralph Bean, Harold Hopper, Robert Edwards, and Bill George. Memorials may be made to MEDIC, 1601 Ailor Avenue, Knoxville, Tenn. 37921, or to the Music Ministry at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, Gentry-Griffey Chapel.
