(October 30, 1909 - August 24, 2008) Dossie Huddleston Myers, age 98, of Newport, passed away, Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Newport, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Myers, SR; brother, J. P. Huddleston; sister, Betty Tiller. She is survived by her sons, Fred L. Myers Jr. and wife Norma, Bill Myers and wife Jane, all of Newport; grandchildren, Janice Myers Raines, of Newport, John and Kristin Myers of Marietta, GA, Bryan and Teresa Myers of Boulder, CO, Matthew Ray Hill of Knoxville; five great grandchildren, Will, Hannah, Andrew, Sydney and Brooke Myers; also several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm, Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Newport. Funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 pm, with Dr. Rich Lloyd and Father David Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
