OWNBY, LINDA FAYRENE MCGINNIS - age 60, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Saturday, December 11, 2010 at her home. She was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School, class of 1968. She attended East Tennessee State University and Knoxville Business College. She was employed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the Physics Department for almost 40 years. She was saved at an early age and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Oak Ridge for many years, but had been attending Ball Camp Missionary Church for some time. Mrs. Ownby was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dean Ownby in 2008. She is survived by parents, J. L. and Jean McGinnis; son, Clinton Bryan Ownby of Knoxville and friend, Christina Madewell; daughter, Laura Brooke Sprain and husband Mike of Knoxville; grandsons, Ethan Ray Sprain of Knoxville and Kyle Aaron Ownby of Nashville, who were the sunshine of her life; sister, Mary Ruth Lay and husband Darrell of Corryton; aunts, Mary Lou Lay and husband Bobby and Isabell Robbins, all of Knoxville; and several cousins and many dear friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 17, 2010 from 6 - 8 pm at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 8 pm with her uncle, Rev. Bobby Lay officiating.
