McMahan, Gene Butler age 80 of Knoxville, TN, Powell community, passed away Saturday, August 02, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Mr. McMahan was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy. While serving in the Navy, Gene worked in the Navel Hospital in Washington DC for a year and Retired from Plasti-Line Inc after 35 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Preceded in death by his mother Zella Pearl Lowe McMahan.
Survivors
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Louise H. McMahan, son Danjean “Dan” McMahan and wife Sheila, daughter Jan Maria Sheibley and husband Steve, grandchildren Grant and Melody McMahan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wallace Memorial Baptist Church building fund.
Service
The McMahan family will receive friends Monday, August 4, 2008 from 5-7pm in the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 7pm with Rev. Kent Williams officiating. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at 10:45am in the Greenwood Cemetery for an 11am interment service.
