Roger Catron, 64, of Tupelo, Mississippi, died Monday, August 31, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis after a sudden illness.
He was born in Coeburn, Virginia, and lived in Memphis from 1982 until moving to Tupelo, Mississippi, a year ago.
He was the director of purchasing for Hart Furniture in Collierville; a veteran of the U.S. Army; and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo, Mississippi.
He was an avid golfer and tennis player.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Valentine Catron of Tupleo, Mississippi; two daughters, Sarah C. Stephenson and her husband, Ed Stephenson, of Brentwood, and Julie C. Thompson and her husband, Fulton Thompson Jr. of Tupleo, Mississippi; one sister, Judy Beverly of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; one brother, Dennis Catron of Elktown, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Robert Preston Thompson and Caroline Elizabeth Thompson, both of Tupelo, Mississippi.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery in Newport. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Manes Funeral Home.
