LOVEDAY, WILLIE M., age 83, passed away at Ridgeview Nursing Home, Rutledge, TN March 3 following a lingering illness. Charter member and deacon of Northwest Baptist Church for 50 years. Mr. Loveday served in the Army 4th Infantry Division, was wounded at Normandy and World War II and received the Purple Heart. Retired from Union Carbide K-25 following 36 years service. Preceded in death by father and mother, Higgins and Martha Loveday; twin sisters, Lida and Laura.
Survivors
Survived by loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Ruth Dalton Loveday; beloved son and daughter-in-law, Donald R. and Shirley Bridges Loveday; 3 dear grandchildren, Leigh Ayn and husband, Kevin Kennard of Knoxville, Donald R. II and wife, Susan of Buffalo, NY, Paul M. Loveday of Knoxville; his pride and joy 6 great-grandchildren, Sam, Gracie, Abigal and Rachel Loveday of Knoxville and Thomas and Nicholas Mitchell Loveday of Buffalo, NY; 3 brothers, Roy and wife, Juanita, Troy and wife Gladys, Walter Loveday, all of Jefferson City; several nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends.
Service
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the nursing staff of Ridgeview Terrace Nursing Home for their loving and personal care given to Willie while he was there. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, March 5 with funeral service to follow at 8 P.M., Rev. George Gilbert and Rev. Jay Galyon officiating. Interment will be 11 A.M.
