BYRD, BILLIE JEAN FOWLER - age 75, born June 29, 1936, of Morristown, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Cocke County and attended Cocke County High School and then graduated from Morristown High School. She retired from South Central Bell after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tennie Holdway Fowler; father, William Fowler; brother, Everette "Bill" Fowler; sisters, Wilma Shaver and Wanda Causey; grandson, Chakotay Byrd; and nephews, Mike Hill, Rick Causey, Bill Fowler, and Tim Fowler. She is survived by her son, Mark Byrd of Knoxville; grandson, Kieran Byrd of Knoxville; sister, Deane Hill of Morristown; brother, Wayne Fowler of Morristown; nieces, Kathy Taylor of Morristown, Kim Fox of Morristown, and Susie Hefner; and nephews, Ron Fowler of Morristown and Steve Causey of Cleveland, OH. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 15 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bethesda Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
