Christopher Paul Byerley, died at home of a heart attack Friday, June 27, 2008 after a long battle with diabetes. Family and friends will miss Chris’s warm smile and sweet disposition. He was well known for his readiness to give of himself. He loved us all well.
Chris was born in greenback and graduated from high school there. He went to UT and then on to specialized training in electronics where his gift and love of this field allowed him to excel. Chris was employed by several internationally known touring singing groups as technical engineer for stage sound and lighting. He traveled extensively in this position before returning to Knoxville to be employed at Park West and Baptist Medical Centers as a biomedical engineer. Most recently Chris was self employed as a sound system consultant.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Dessler Byerley. He leaves his mother, Helen Byerley of Kingsport, and three brothers: Quentis of Loudon, Jeff and Mark of Greenback, two sisters-in-law, Carole and Elana, nieces and nephews Quent II, Sarah, Annie, Seth, Kayla and Shane. There are two very special friends, Jim England and Tommy Gryder.
Services for Chris will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 11 AM at Greenback Presbyterian Church. The family will have private burial. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
