- Eli was a farmer and a Baptist minister. He was severely injured at a log rolling which resulted in his death. He left a will dated 16 March 1867 in which he named his wife, Mary, and four children. (Will Book I, p116)
Listed in the 1860 Federal Census of Sevier County, Tennessee.
