FORD, DOYLE KENNETH retired Captain of the Knoxville City Fire Department and 50 year Mason and Past Master of Masters Lodge #244 F&AM, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Baptist Hospital at the age of 84. Mr. Ford was a lifelong resident of Knoxville and a longtime member of Oakwood Baptist Church. A member of the Areme Chapter of OES, York Rite and Scottish Rite - KCCH bodies, he was a veteran of World War II. Preceded in death by: his parents, Sherman A. Ford and Arlena Cole Ford, along with three brothers, Clayton, Glenn, and Coy Ford. He is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Elsie Overton Ford of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Denny McMahan of Knoxville, Debbie and David Clark of Maryville, Janet and Larry French of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Carol Ford of Sevierville; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Harold Gutridge; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel and travel in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment service. Pallbearers will be: Jeff French, Jamie Jenes, Jef Damewood, Ed Tinker, Tom Ownby and Doug Norwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Mitlehner and Tim Fritch. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to: Oakwood Baptist Church, 111 E. Columbia, Knoxville, TN 37917. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. www.rosemortuary.com.
