Rainwater, Lucille Elizabeth McAndrew, age 93, departed this life Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at NHC Health Care. Lucille was born May 15, 1917 to Edward Mitchell and Lucy Mae Rinehart McAndrew of Dandridge. She was a longtime member of Lincoln Park United Methodist Church, where she shared her talent of nurturing and encouraging children. Her life was dedicated to caring for children and she enjoyed caring for them in her church and home. After raising her own children, she cared for her grandchildren, friends' children, and for others in the community. These adults tend to call her "Mom" still today. She also helped care for family members for many years. Mrs. Rainwater is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Fox Rainwater; brothers, Joseph Edward, William Alfred, James Mitchell, Inman Atchley and sister, Josie Pauline McAndrew; nephew, George Alger McAndrew, Jr.; sister-in-law, Martha Frank McAndrew and granddaughter, Sabrina Lewis. She is loved and survived by her children, Glenda Rainwater Rogers and Edward Wiley (June) Rainwater; sister, Laurie McAndrew Lakey and brothers, George Alger and Y.J. (Barbara) McAndrew and sister-in-law, Betty Ray McAndrew; grandchildren, Melissa Rogers (Adam) Sandling, Michael Glenn Rogers, and Serena Key; great grandchildren, Christopher, Dakoda, Brittney, and Ashley Key; special family friends David Payne and Edith Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the entire staff of NHC Knoxville and Caris for their dedicated care and emotional support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery of Dandridge. Family will receive friends Saturday from 6 – 8 pm at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 8 pm with Rev. Tom King officiating. Family and friends will meet at Chestnut Hill UMC Cemetery in Dandridge at 4 pm Sunday for the interment service. Arrangements by Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W.
