CARROLL, HENRY CLAY age 75, of Clinton, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at his residence. He was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church. He retired from Anderson County Road Dept. after 18 years of service. Throughout his life he enjoyed farming and gardening. He is preceded in death by: mother, Lena Carpenter Carroll; father, Elisha Carroll; sister, Mary Jane Giles. He is survived by: wife of 57 years, A.O. Dowda Carroll of Clinton; sisters, Bonnie Wills & husband Raymond Wills of Heiskell, Vesta Moneymaker of Maryville; brother, Ray Carroll & wife Jeanne of Columbus, OH; special sister-in-law, Oma Cox of Powell; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends; special companion, his dog, Samme, The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home. His funeral service will be 11:00 am, Friday in the chapel with Rev. Joe Copeland and Rev. Jess Ward officiating. The burial will follow at Farmers Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
