Clark H. McCoig,age 63, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville after a brief illness. He was a member of George Street United Methodist Church. He was retired from Magnavox-Philips with 40 years service and was an avid Corvette enthusiast and dedicated automobile mechanic for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Myrtle Strange McCoig; brother, Taylor McCoig; father-in-law, Carl (Shorty) Groseclose; and a special nephew, Derrick McCoig. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Hatmaker McCoig of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Kenny Howard of New Market, Allison and Jerome Wilson of Talbott; granddaughter and husband, Kennetha and Mark Turley of Rutledge; grandson, Colt Howard of New Market; great grandson, Joshua Mark Turley of Rutledge; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marjorie and Robert Martin and Helen Faye and Tom White, all of Dandridge; brother and sisters-in-law, Garland and Lois McCoig of Dandridge and Maxine McCoig of Kingsport; mother-in-law, Ruby Groseclose of Jefferson City; several special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and numerous special friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2002 at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend Stephen Burkhardt and Reverend Marvin Hayes officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2002 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to George Street United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Tennessee.
