GROSECLOSE, WILLIAM CARL "SHORTY" - age 85, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at Lifecare Center of Jefferson City. He was a member of George Street United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of World War II, and retired from White Stores Warehouse after many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Belle Carroll Groseclose; brother, Garfield Groseclose; brother-in-law, Earl Baker and nephew, Harvey Richard Welch. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Baker Groseclose of the home.; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Clark McCoig of Jefferson City; granddaughters, Sherry Howard and husband, Kenny of New Market, and Allison Wilson and husband Jerome of Talbott; great-granddaughter, Kennetha Turley and husband, Mark of Rutledge; great-grandson, Colt Howard of New Market, and great-great grandson, Joshua Turley of Rutledge; sisters, Mae Pollard and Edna Bryant; brother, Raymond Groseclose, all of Knoxville; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ray and Bobbie Baker of Newport, and Helen Baker of Jefferson City, and several nieces and nephews, and cousins, special friends, W. C. and Jan Wood, and employees of Food Lion, and numerous special friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2002, at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Reverend Stephen Burkhardt and Reverend Stacey Lawson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2002, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Clark and Barbara McCoig in Jefferson City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorial donations may be made to George Street United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home, 411 W.
