WAYNESVILLE Annie Laurie Turner Duckett Stewart, 87, of 475 Allen's Creek Road, died Friday, March 17, 2000, at the Autumn Care Nursing Facility in Waynesville. She was born to the late William C. and Sarah E. Stokley Turner on July 9, 1912, in Cocke County, Tenn. She is survived by her four children, Charlene Duckett Snyder of Waynesville, Arlen N. Duckett of Waynesville, Gene H. Duckett of Lafayette, Calif. and Stewart W. Duckett of Waynesville her three sisters, Minnie Sue Hixson of Newport, Tenn., Cora Lou Turner of Johnson City, Tenn. and Frances T. Self of Jacksonville, Fla. 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie H. Duckett her second husband, Frank Stewart and three brothers, Herbert, Herman and Len Turner. She worked at Wellco Enterprises for 27 years as an inspection supervisor. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church where she served as a treasurer for a number of years. She was also a member of the Professional Business Women's Association and a State Delegate for the Democratic Party. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Westmoreland and the Rev. Roland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Duckett, Tim Duckett, Greg Earley, Cary Turman , Brian Ingle and Rick Price. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Meals on Wheels.
