Verdie Rickman Spence, age 78, of Maryville, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010. She was a member of Carpenter’s Campground United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Vira Rickman. She is survived by her husband, Bill Spence; son, Garry Spence; daughter, Rhonda Spence; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Rick Everett; grandson, Jason Everett; granddaughters and husbands, Tiffany and Charlie Brown and Emily and Caleb Compton; great-granddaughters, Makayla Ann Deckard and Lillian Nicole Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frankie Summey, Edith and Hugh Valentine, Jean Hill, and Charlotte and JD Cole; brother, Verlin Rickman; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Kenneth Tucker officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Carpenter’s Campground United Methodist Church. Family and friends will meet 10:00 AM at Carpenter’s Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
