James C. “Jack” Douglas, age 83 of Knoxville. Passed away Wed. April 23 at St Mary Medical Center after suffering a massive stroke. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He retired at the age of 68 as a superintendent for Blaine Construction. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Texie Lee Douglas; brothers Paul and George; sister Mildred Slover. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary J. “Jerry” Douglas; daughter Pat Winsett and son-in-law Ted; son Roger Douglas and daughter-in-law Lynn, and daughter Linda Russell and son-in-law Tom; devoted grandchildren and spouses Teddy & Joy Winsett, Karyn Carter, Dusty & Kali Winsett, Jill Somers and Brent & Debbie Douglas, Doug & Karen Russell and Curt & Nina Russell; 7 great-grandchildren; brother William Douglas, sister-in-law Osa Petree and brother-in-law William Slover. A host of nieces and nephews. Services will be at 8 pm Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with the Rev. Lester Mullins and Rev. Ted Winsett officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 am Sat. at Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment at 10 am. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
