Charles Houston Ritchey, age 89 of Maryville, passed away at Blount Memorial Hospital on July 25, 2013. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He served in the war at Pearl Harbor, worked for Harrison Construction R. L. Harris Company, Harbert Construction, and W. W. Williams. He also was a member of Mtn. View Lodge as a Mason. He was preceded in death by wife, Ruby Lee (Byrd) Ritchey; parents, Matthew and Virginia Ritchey; sisters, Trula Mae Peterson, Belle Davis and brother, James E. Ritchey.
Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Libby Ritchey, Mike and Debbie Ritchey; grandchildren, Melissa Johnson and husband Joe, Michelle Ritchey, Chris Ritchey and wife Ellen, and Jason Ritchey; great grandchildren, Makayla and Hunter Johnson, Braeleigh Ritchey and Jayden Ritchey. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and special friend, Howard Parham.
Special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospital Staff and the Staff at Morningview.
Funeral service and Masonic Service will be at 8:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sanders Whaley, Rev. Bill Dixon and Rev. David Randolph officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Childrens Hospital of Knoxville, Disabled Veterans, or the American Cancer Society.
