Ayers, Ruth Coleman – age 86 of Blaine passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. She was a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church. She retired from Standard Knitting Mills after 37 years of service. She loved her retirement years gardening, canning, crocheting, and working with arts and crafts. Preceded in death by her parents, James and Gertrude Coleman; husband, Rev. Willard Ayers; sisters, Virginia Hickman, Lorraine Russell, Mary Brown, and Jewell Willett. Survived by daughter, Joyce Frazier of Blaine; son, Carter Ayers and wife Kathy of Lansing, MI; grandsons, Darryl Frazier and wife Laura of Blaine, Harold Frazier and wife Lisa of Blaine; granddaughter, Davina Kark and husband John of Holland, MI; great grandchildren, Chassidy Frazier, Taylor and Madison Frazier, all of Blaine, Jared and Kaley Kark of Holland, MI; and many caring nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Ridgeview Terrace Nursing Home and Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Satterfield officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 PM Wednesday at Eastview Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 PM interment. Pallbearers: Darryl Frazier, Harold Frazier, Taylor Frazier, Tony Willett, Joel Blackford, and James Anderson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Indian Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
