BROWN, MARY (COLEMAN) - 74, former Kodak, TN resident, and widow of Hu Clifford "Brownie" Brown died Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at Countryside Manor in Bristol, CT. Mrs. Brown was born November 16, 1927 in Kodak, TN and was a daughter of the late James Carter and Gertrude (Carson) Coleman. She attended elementary school in Kodak, started High School in Sevierville County and graduated from Friendsville High School in Blunt County. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she met her husband. During WW II she was employed in Oak Ridge, TN serving the war effort, and later was employed in the office at Woodruff's Store. Following her husband's completion of College, they moved to Rochester, MI where he held a position with the Ford Motor Company until he was transferred to Connecticut. Mrs. Brown lived in Connecticut for 31 years and is survived by three sons and two daughters four sisters: Jenny Hickman Foster of Morristown, Ruth Ayers of Blain, Lorraine Russell of Kodak, and Jewell Willett of Heritage seven grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday August 26, 2002. Burial was in East Cemetery, Litchfield, CT. Memorial donations may be made for funding charitable art programs in memory of Mary Beth Brown to the Main Street Community Foundation P.O. Box 2702, Bristol, CT 06011-2702.
