SMITH, WAYNE LANKFORD - age 67, of Rt. 1, Blaine, passed away at his residence on January 11, 1999. He was a member of Little Valley Baptist Church. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Lankford P. and Annie Smith; brothers, Ernest Smith, Robert Lester Smith, Roscoe Alvin Smith and Glen Smith; sisters, Edna Joyce, Hazel Shelby and Frances Belk. Survivors are: brothers, Clyde Donald Smith and Clarence Smith of Blaine; sisters, Nina Fisher of Blaine, Ina Cochran of Strawberry Plains, Mary Alice Zachary of Corryton, Susie Flynn and Esther McMillan of Knoxville; special brothers-in-law, John McMillan and Doyle Zachary. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 1999, at 8 p.m., at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hollis Dunsmore officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m., in Little Valley Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith Funeral Home in Rutledge, Tenn. Pallbearers are: Dennis Smith, David Smith, Donnie Smith, Ronnie Smith, Bobby Fisher, Kenny Fisher and Mike Zachary.
