Ralph Clinton Gregory “Pappy”, age 85 went home to be with the Lord March 26, 2008. As a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, Pappy became interested in rescue work. Serving as Captain and director for 40 years, he was well known for his dedication to the Greenback Rescue Squad. Preceded in death by parents, Andy K. Gregory and Frankie Brown Gregory; wife, Mildred Sands Gregory; daughter, Margaret Gregory Tilley; sisters, Arvia, Lula Lura, Lora, and Effie; brother, Frantz Gregory. Survivors include special friend of 16 years, Gearldine Parker of Greenback; daughter and son in law, Jerry and Don Franklin of Greenback, Jacqueline Powers of Alcoa; son in law, Frank Tilley of Greenback; grandchildren, Jennifer Franklin Rodgers, David Franklin, Lee Tilley Jr. Lisa Tilley Hord, Jeff Cuneo, Joel Cuneo, John Cuneo, and their spouses; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Special thanks to the Greenback Rescue Squad and the Greenback Community for their support during his illness. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to Greenback Rescue Squad at Regions Bank Greenback Branch. Funeral service Thursday, March 27, 2008 7:00 pm at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Mike McClurg and Rev. Casey King officiating. Interment service 1:00 pm Friday March 28, 2008 at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. www.millerfuneralhome.org
