Baltimore police probe death of Maryvillian

Police in Baltimore, Md., are investigating the death of a Maryville woman early Sunday morning.
According to public information officer Anthony Guglielimi of the Baltimore Police Department, officers were on regular patrol on the 600 block of West Ostend Street at about 1:30 a.m. when they found security from the Paradox nightclub on nearby Russell Street performing CPR on 25-year-old Karen Huskey as she was lying on a sidewalk.
She was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was pronounced dead at 2:23 a.m.
Guglielimi said for now there were no signs of foul play in Huskey’s death, but indicated that there were plastic beads and glow sticks by her side as she was being administered to, evidence that she had been to the nightclub, where she apparently attended a rave party. “Right now we are looking at this as a suspicious death,” Guglielimi told The Daily Times Monday afternoon.
Huskey’s body was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner for an autopsy. Guglielimi said it was not known if she lived in Baltimore or was just visiting.
