HAMPTON, GREGORY STEVEN - age 37, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at his residence, due to a lengthy illness. He was a member of Longfield Baptist Church in Lake City. He was a machinist with Rex Nord Corporation Link-Belt Bearing Division in Clinton. Preceded in death by mother, Barbara England, and sister, Brenda Fox. He was born July 19, 1963, in Knox County. Survivors: wife, Donna Webb Hampton of Clinton; son, Greg Hampton and wife Heather of Clinton; "Special Dad", Jim England of Claxton; father, James Hampton of Ohio; sisters, Karen H. Bradshaw and husband, Jeff of Knoxville, Tammy McDuffie and husband, Greg of Knoxville, and Joyce Huskey and husband, Mark of Seymour; brother, Allen Hampton and wife, Nadene of Claxton; several nieces and nephews. Special Dog Companion, Scruffy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, H. B. and Mary Webb of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brother-in-law, Rick Webb and wife, Sherry of Andersonville. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2001, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel with Rev. Mack Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge of arrangements.
