Johnson , Gene Ypsilanti Twp., MI Age 88, passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 at his home. He was born August 1, 1920 in Knoxville, TN, the son of Earl A. and Ruth (Simpson) Johnson . On November 27, 1946 he married Jean Louise Atkinson, and she survives. He served honorably in the US Navy and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Mr. Johnson was employed by Ford Motor Co., Ypsilanti Plant, for 30 years retiring in 1982. Also surviving are: three sons, Gary (Susan) Johnson of Romulus, Stanley (Michelle) Johnson of Clinton and Wayne (Tina) Johnson of Ypsilanti; eleven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Timothy Johnson in 1988, and two brothers, Maurice and Wilbur Johnson and one sister, Beatrice Roberts. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti.
