Mrs. Glenda Mink, 57, 111 Sleepy Hollow Rd, Johnson City, TN went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Saturday, June 6, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. A native of Knox County, she was a daughter of Thelma DeFord Wilkerson, Knoxville, TN, and the late Glenn Wilkerson. Glenda had lived the past 30 years in Washington County, and was employed in housekeeping with the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. She was a member of the Prayer Tabernacle Church in Elizabethton, and was also a member of the Clinch Mountain Bass Masters Fishing Club.
In addition to her father, Glenda was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Wayne Wilkerson. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Gary Mink, Sr., of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Keith Burchfield, Johnson City; a son, Lee Mink, Jr., Bristol, VA; seven grandchildren, Brandi Burchfield and Brandon Burchfield, both of Johnson City, Trevor Mink, Trenton Mink, and Kynlea Mink, all of Bristol, VA, and Chase Chambers and Chelsea Chambers, both of Mountain City, TN; and a great-granddaughter, Keliegh Chambers, Mountain City, TN.
Gathering of Remembrance service for Mrs. Glenda Mink will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, with Rev. Greg Wagner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter, Kim Burchfield, 205 Happy Valley Road, Johnson City, other times. Private disposition will be held at a later date.
