Jean Cooper Ogle passed away peacefully at her home in Emert's Cove on June 18, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Ogle of Gatlinburg; her daughter, Dianna Ogle of Gatlinburg; her mother and step-father, Pete and Frank Eckel of Sevierville; and her father, Andy Cooper of Knoxville.
Jean was President of TAO and a benefactor of the arts in Gatlinburg and Knoxville. She was a Friend of the Smokies, a supporter of the Boys and Girls Club and the East Tennessee Foundation.
Jean is survived by her grandchildren, Austin Musick, Isaac Ogle (Dasha), Noah Cox, Johnny, Haas and Millie Snelling, and Adam Cushman; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Barrett, Zoe Musick, Olivia Ogle; her sisters, Dawn Kirker (Tom) of San Antonio and Andy Roe (Hal) of Cleveland; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, 222 Heritage Blvd, Newport, TN 37821.
The family will receive friends 5-6:45 PM Thursday with a memorial service to follow at 7 PM at First Baptist Church, Gatlinburg. Rev. Larry Burcham and Rev. Daniel Ogle will officiate. Pallbearers will be her nephews: Jim Ogle, David Ogle, Tom Dunn, Tommy Roe, Scott, Kelley and David Kirker. Honorary pallbearers will be her loving caregivers: Rhonda Powell, Kayla Bennett, Megan Johnson, Lindley Houston, Rose Manning, Chelsea Costner, Samantha Ogle, Molly King, Sarah Hays, Kathy Adams, Teresa Blaylock, Cindy Hattingh and Esther Compton.
