WEST, BILLY RAY - age 71, Knoxville, went home to his Heavenly reward on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. A bittersweet loss, his passing deeply saddens those who loved him and were touched by his kindness, but it is with great joy that we also celebrate his presence with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, beloved daughter Theresa Rhea West, and godly parents Hugh T. and Mattie West. A Christian for 50 years, he was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church and a blessing to all who knew him. He was a graduate of East High School, 1958. He retired from Ace Distributors and previously worked for many years at R.T. Clapp. He was preceded in death by brother Jim West, sister and nephew Shirley and Wesley McMahan, and great-nephew Kenzie West. Survived by loving wife Rose Marie West; devoted son and daughter-in-law Joseph A. and Wendy West; and cherished grandchildren Joseph Chase and Kyndra Rheanne West. Also survived by sister and brother-in-law Dottie and Ronnie Brimer, brother Donnie West; sister-in-law Nancy West; aunts Ethel Farrow, Paralee Ramsey, Louise Wilson; uncles A.J. Daniels and wife Janie and Amos West; sisters-in-law (and husbands) Sue Ballard, Fay Christie (Chris), and Martha York (David), and several nieces and nephews. A celebration service of Mr. West's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Reverend Bill McCarter and Dr. Damon Patterson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at Rose Mortuary to travel in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. interment service. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Brimer, Donnie West, Martin West, Nathan Ballard, A.J. Daniels, Damon Farrow, David York, Chase West, Joseph West and Jani Trupovenieks. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the mortuary. Online condolences may be extended at www.rosemortuary.com.
