BRANTLEY, BENNY RAY - age 42 of Powell, TN formerly of LaFollette, TN passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at his home. Benny was of the Baptist faith and a 1984 graduate of Campbell County High School and a 1985 graduate of Jacksboro State Area Vocational School, 1992 graduate of Knoxville State Area Vocational Tech with diplomas in welding and computer technology. He was a former employee of O'Neal Steel in Knoxville, TN until he became disabled. Benny had a lot of love for his family and friends and especially his children. He enjoyed sports, especially UT football and visiting with friends and family, especially his sister, Helen. Preceded in death by parents, Howard and Grace Comer Brantley; sister, Helen Brantley; grandparents, Alfred and Hattie Wright Brantley and Hames and Martha Jane Ford Comer. Survived by son, Benjamin Brantley; and daughter, Brittany Brantley both of Lenoir City; brothers, James L. Brantley of LaFollette and Robert F. Brantley of Elkhart, IN; nephews, Marc and Aaron Brantley of LaFollette; niece, Meliss Brantley Coy of Syracuse, IN. Funeral service will be at Martin Wilson Chapel in LaFollette, TN Thursday, February 28. Family will receive friend from 6 to 8 PM and services to follow. Interment will be Friday at Bakers Forge Cemetery in Demory. In lieu of flowers, deposits can be made at any First National Bank location or mailed directly to First National Bank, 106 South TN Ave. LaFollette, TN 37766 to the account of James L. Brantley (Memorial Fund/Benny R. Brantley.) Martin Wilson Funeral Home of LaFollette is in charge of arrangements.
