Ransom Kiser, age 85 of Knoxville, passed into the arms of Jesus June 6, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He was born September 11, 1925 in Wolf Pit, KY and was owner of Knoxville Tank and Welding Company for 38 years. He is preceded in death by parents, James and Nellie Kiser of Deer Lodge, TN; son, Michael Kiser of Indianapolis, IN and 5 brothers. Ransom was a WWII veteran, having served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He is survived by wife of 58 years, JoAnn; daughter, Connie Susan Huggins of Halls; 2 sons, Raymond of Halls, Dennis and wife, Susan of Powell; 4 grandchildren, Jason and Christen Kiser of Halls, April and Larry Phelps of Georgia, Patricia and Gregg Bice of Hixson, TN, and Ashley Miller of Powell; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, James Kiser and wife, Faye of Corryton; sisters, Inez Frazier and husband Lillard of Powell and Faye Burgin of SC. The family would like to thank the staff at LaFollette Court Assisted Living and Mercy Residential Hospice for their care of Ransom for the past nine months. Funeral Service 8PM Wednesday Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel with Rev. Louis Branch and Eric Kiser officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:15PM Thursday at TN State Veteran Cemetery for interment at 1:30PM. Family will receive friends 7-8PM Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel.
