Maude Euvella Walker “Bea” Allen, age 87, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009 at home. She was a long time resident of the South Knoxville Community and an avid flower gardener, she won the Vestal Organization Residential Yard Award in 1991. Preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Cora Walker; husband, James Garfield Allen; sister, Gladys Purkey, Mildred Free; brothers, Rex Walker, Odell Walker and AJ Walker. Survivors include her daughters and sons in law, Betty and Lowell Flynn, Louise and Steve Darnell, and Brenda and Doug Sexton; sons and daughters in law, Ray and Leelee Allen, Glenn and Glenda Allen, Jim and Elke Allen; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sisters, Alyene Weaver of Louisville; brother, Ben H. Walker; special niece, Wilma Simmerly and many other nieces and nephews. She had many close neighbors and friends. Her grand daughter, Tammy Hensley worked faithfully in her flower gardens for five years. She also enjoyed visits with University of Tennessee Hospice Chaplain, Ron Russell. Special thank you to all the U.T. Hospice employees. Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Charlie Reynolds officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:00 p.m. Monday at Zion Chapel Cemetery for the graveside service and interment. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
