Vola Williams Jones, age 98, of Newport, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at her home, she and her twin sister were born December 7, 1909, in the Jones Cove Community, to Joseph and Carrie Williams. She was the last of five siblings. She was a faithful member of Newport Church of Christ for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Jones of 57 years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and David Bryant of Newport; sister-in-law, Edna Gray of Newport; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 10, 2008 in Manes Funeral home Chapel with Minister John Daniels and Minister Tommy Goldmon officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm Sunday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
