Cora S. Callender Farrell, 84, passed away March 7, 1998. Born February 10, 1914 in Jasper, Texas to Lon and Lola Mae Richardson Smalley. A resident of Albuquerque since 1951, she retired from Sandia National Laboratory in 1978 after 28 years of service. Survived by husband, John J. Farrell of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Heidi Oury and husband, John of Albuquerque; three sons, James W. Callender and wife, JoAnn, Edward W. Callender, all of California, and Allen W. Callender and wife, Deanna of Albuquerque; one step-son, James B. Farrell of Albuquerque; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at the Palm Chapel at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, 1998 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Interment will follow at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
