VISTA -- Charles Henry Christman, 92, passed away on August 6, 2014. He was born in Huntington, IN on September 29, 1921, the son of Earl and Buryel Christman. Prior to moving to California in December 1953, Charlie was a farmer in Indiana. In California, he worked for SDG&E as a utility locator for 26 years. He was actively involved with Vista Little League, PTA, the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Traffic Safety Commission He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Christman in 1979. Charlie is survived by his wife of 33 years, Katherine Oury Christman; his sister, Harriet Fouts; his children, Sandy Buckley (Buddy), Nancy Dorey (Paul), Dan Christman, Patty de Jong, and Dick Christman (Kay); three step-children, Linda Rogers (Joel), Brenda Shively (Brian), Paul Oury (Cathy); 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. There will be a visitation held at Allen Brothers Mortuary, 1315 S. Santa Fe. Ave., Vista, CA 92083 on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
