Nina Phillips Black, age 75, of Newport passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at her daughters home surrounded by loving family. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Glenn Black; mother, Laura Phillips Shults. She is survived by sons and daughters in laws, Glen and Kathy Black, Doug and Cheryl Black of Newport; daughters and sons in laws, Bonnie and Terry Davis of Newport; Vickie and Marcus Carter of Greeneville, Marilyn and Ronnie Ball, Tammie and Gomer Gray, Melissa “Missy” and Mark Barnes all of Newport and Sharon Black of Knoxville; special sister, Virginia “Jenny” Green; grandchildren, Ashley Gray, Norma Giles, Sallie Lovell, Shirley Black, Christopher Black, Steven Black, Phillip Black, Marcia Black, Misty Lee, Dwayne Rankins, Norman Rankins, Rebecca Bradley, Cindy Klepper, Christy Shelton, Corey Swagerty and Maci Harris; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Giles, Allison Lovell, Alyssa Lovell, Alexus Lee, Isaac Lee, Madison Lee, Kelsey Rankins, Autumn Rankins, Emma Bradley, Cade Harris, Summer Howard, and Isaac Black; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Thursday, January 17, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Tommy Goldman officiating. Burial will be 10:00 am, Friday, January 18, 2008 in Blacks Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services
