Mabel Ellen Whitehead Minton age 93 of Maryville passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at Maryville Healthcare. She was born April 2, 1914 in Walland, TN. She was a member of East Maryville Baptist Church. She was retired from Maryville City School System. Preceded in death by: Husband, Carl M. Minton; Parents, Tom & Mary Whitehead; Sisters, Allie Huskey and Mamie Christopher; Brothers, Lawrence, Herman, Leonard, Herrel, and Hubert Whitehead. Survivors include: Sister, Ruth Hatcher of Maryville; Brother, Ernest Whitehead of Shelbyville, Kentucky; many devoted nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Keith Johnson and Rev. David Webster officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 11, 2008 at East Maryville Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment. In lieu of flowers, make donations to East Maryville Baptist Church Building Fund, 1150 Brown School Road, Maryville, TN 37804.
