McGill Jr., age 71, of Rockford, passed away Monday evening, December 24, 2007 at his family home surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed numerous sports, both playing and watching. He loved watching his grandchildren compete in sports. He retired from Rohm and Haas after 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Wilma McGill, and his brother, Andy McGill. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anna Ruth Hembree McGill; son, David Lynn McGill and wife, Helen of Rockford; son, Mark McGill and wife, Debbie of Maryville; three grandchildren, Mark Allen McGill Jr., Brittany McGill, and Kristin McGill all of Maryville; sisters, Helen Phelps, Barbara Hitch, Evelyn Nichols, Alice Cowan,Bessie Brown, and Diane Ownby; brothers, Ernest McGill, and Harvey McGill; special friends include Joe Swafford, Ed Hollaway, and Betty Ramsey. Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Charles Roy Murrell officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Friday at Clark’s Grove Cemetery for the interment service.
