Sarah Grace Grooms, age 75, of Newport, passed away at 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Francis Franklin, and son, David Grooms.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Grooms; son, Wayne Hannon; grandchildren, Clinton (Amanda) Clevenger, Corky (Lisa) Clevenger, Bobby Clevenger, Brenda Clevenger, Amanda James, Chelsea Hannon Meigs; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Spurgeon, Robert Spurgeon, Emmit Spurgeon.
Funeral Service will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2009, in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Winters officiating.
Interment will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2009, at Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
