Winfred R. (Pat) Summey, age 81, of Greenback, went home to be with the Lord 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Member of Howard’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he served as the choir director for 68 years. Member of the Mt. View Masonic Lodge #519. Retired from the Carpenter’s Local #50. Also worked for the National Forest Service. An avid coon hunter. A loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors, wife of 46 years, Gayle O. Summey; daughters, Amy Summey and Crystal Summey, both of Greenback, son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Melony Summey; granddaughters, Mariah Summey and Felicia Gay, all of Madisonville; sisters, Gertie Tallent, Vonore, Gradie Weaver, Indiana; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and MaryAnn Summey, Vonore; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Doak and Grace Dotson Summey; brothers, John, Elmer, Doak Jr. (June) and Cecil Summey; father-in-law, Rev. Alfred B. Orr. Funeral 8 p.m. Friday, Howard’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Ralph Patton and Rev. Barney Tipton officiating. Interment 1 p.m. Saturday, Howard’s Chapel Cemetery with graveside Masonic service provided by Mt. View Masonic Lodge #519. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
