ROSE, CHARLOTTE McDONALD - age 69, of Maryville, passed away Monday evening, March 5, 2001, at Colonial Hills Convalescent Center, after a lengthy illness. She was a member of the Everett High School Class of 1950. She was retired from the A.C. Spark Plug Division of General Motors in Flint, Mich., where she resided for 37 years. She was of the Baptist Faith. Preceded in death by parents, Robert Finley McDonald and Ida Grindstaff McDonald; brothers, Horace McDonald, Charles F. Grindstaff, and Ben Grindstaff; sister, Nora G. Perkins. Survivors include sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Charlie Duncan; niece, Janice Duncan Ritchey and husband Harold; great nephew and niece, Matthew and Maleia Ritchey; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Horace (Ruth) McDonald and Mrs. Ben (Minnie) Grindstaff; nephew, R. L. Grindstaff; nieces, Juanita Barlow, Laura Abbott, Ruth Rolen and Dorothy Millsaps, all of Maryville. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Dr. Scott Campbell and Rev. Clifford Debety officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Old Piney Grove Cemetery for the interment with Rev. Raymond Burnett officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Piney Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 601 Butler Mill Road, Maryville, TN 37803. Friends may call at their convenience after 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at Smith Mortuary.
