Raymond Carroll Dotson, age 57 of Sevierville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 9, 2007, at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. Raymond was born April 15, 1950 in Virginia to Everette Dotson and the late Stella Francis (Parrigan) Dotson. He was the first born son of five children born to the couple. Born on his father’s birthday, he and his father celebrated many birthdays together. Raymond was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
Raymond spent most of his life in Virginia until he moved in 2000 to East Tennessee. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and he worked hard for his family as a devoted truck operator for 32 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, gardening, cooking, keeping his vehicles clean and shiny, visiting with family and friends, and helping anyone in need.

Sons: Chris Dotson and Kevin Dotson of Virginia
Daughters: Wendi (Jeff) Murphy of VA, Vonnie (Chris) Perrin of Florida
Step-sons: Jimmy (Sheila) Matthews, Mark Matthews all of Sevierville

Pallbearers will be Jeff Murphy, Chris Perrin, Jimmy Matthews, Mark Matthews, Harold Loveday, and Conley Schultz. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Fleming, Truman Fleming, Steve Underwood, Bobby Dotson, Michael Griffin, Steve Griffin, Charles (Chuck) Fleming, Ronald Griffin, and Creed Fleming.
Funeral service 7 PM Tuesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Hitch officiating. Interment 11 AM Wednesday in Mountain View Cemetery in Sevier County. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
