YAKIMA - Clyde A. Dunn passed away Nov. 2, 2005 at Yakima Memorial Hospital.
Clyde was born Jan. 6, 1913 in Sevier County, TN to Willey Fillmore Dunn and Minnie Elizabeth Dunn (Manis). He was educated in a one room school house in Sevier County. He went to work at a logging camp at age 12 when he moved to Knoxville, TN. Later he drove a produce truck hauling produce out of Florida.
In 1940 he came to Peshastan, WA. Clyde worked in an orchard for two weeks then got a job falling timber. He married Dorothy McCune in 1941. At that time he was driving his own logging truck, Jipo Logging. During those years of marriage he owned a welding shop and an auto parts store in Cashmere, WA. In 1955 he moved to Wapato where he purchased the Liberty Theater and retired in 1975.
Clyde was a member of the Wapato Masonic Lodge #171 and was master two times which he was proud of. He was Junior Grand Stewart in 1974 and 1975 of the Grand Lodge of Washington. He was a 32 degree Scottish Mason and a Shriner and a member of the Eastern star in 1975. He was instrumental in starting a Masonic travel trailer club, MM Travelers of National Campers and Travelers (NCT). He was a Master of Traveler for 2 years.
He enjoyed fishing, silversmithing, and camping with MM Travelers and NCTs.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Wapato; son, Allen Dunn of Seattle; daughter, Virginia Carter of Wapato; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 at 11:00 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights. Interment will follow in the Tahoma Cemetery. Following services there will be a gathering at the Toppenish Masonic Lodge.
