A casual beach memorial will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005. Friends will meet at Ocean Bay Villas, 650 Salter Path Road, Pine Knoll Shores. For further information, please contact Wendy Gibson at (336) 993-8441. Prior to her illness, Mrs. Smith was the active property manager of Ocean Bay Villas at Pine Knoll Shores. She was a member of Atlantic Beach Shag Club. She is survived by her loving companion, Sterling Roberts of Pine Knoll Shores; three daughters, Donna Lesser of Beaufort, Wendy Gibson of Kernersville and Lori Graham of High Point; her mother, Gladys B. Newsome of Elm City and two grandchildren, Joshua Gibson Lesser and Erin Lindsey Graham. She was preceded in death by her father Garland Newsome and her best friends Brandy and Jasmine "Jazzi".
